Alyssa Falk, LMHCA

Life is hard sometimes. My hope for our work together is to create a safe space where you can talk about anything, and it's okay. I want to hear about it. I value empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard in my practice.

For those who want a bit more 'nudge,’ I offer acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), where we explore how chaos and peace often walk hand-in-hand within us; existential therapy, where we find purpose and meaning despite the challenges; reality therapy (choice theory), where we look at what you want and how to get there; and rational-emotive behavior therapy (REBT), where we pinpoint underlying thought patterns and how they influence your feelings and actions. Sometimes the answer is just doing – or believing – something different.

However, change does not happen this way for everyone. You might just need someone to sit with you without trying to get anywhere in particular. Sometimes, all people really need is a little love and a different perspective. I enjoy providing that neutral space where you can lay your burdens down for a bit, take a step back, and perhaps see them from a different angle. Even when we aren't focused on a solution or progress, it sometimes comes to us.

P.S. When I’m not ‘playing counselor,’ you can find me at home ‘playing house’ with my husband and cat, practicing yoga, writing, reading, walking/hiking outside, playing piano at church, or playing games and laughing with friends.
